 AH REACH FOR THE CARNIVAL

Ah reach!
Papayo! Ah touch down
Ah back in the Spice,
Reacquainted once more,
With the smell of nutmeg,
Cinnamon and clove,
Dat managed to survive,
Dat damn Ivan,
Ah the smell!
Ah feel the sea breeze,
On me smiling face,
I am refreshed,
Ah ready,
For the bacchanal.

Ah hear ah pan,
The sound of steel,
Ah hear ah beat,
Dat soca sweet,
MAMAYO!
It's carnival time,
Mas and commess,
Wine if yuh wineing,
Leh me back me shirt.

Ah reach,
Its time to awaken,
These sleeping legs,
Time to shake the fog,
The smog and snow,
That choked me mind,
In that other clime.
Time to shake ah leg,
To jump and spree,
Yuh hear dem?
Yuh see dem?
Gee me room compere,
Ah reach!
