 THEY LABORED HARD

They labored hard, long hours spent,
The perfect tune their minds were bent,
Musical charm from pans arose,
I stood in awe, on the Wharf I froze.

Spellbound, entrapped by sound of steel,
And deep within the rhythm feel,
Sweet tenor pan rang through the air,
Touched by bass, I shed a tear.

Over again, same song was played,
Bandleader’s mind not quickly swayed,
The notes were struck, a rightful ring,
Melodious pan that night did sing.

And then there was a touching scene,
Bandleader smiled, a sudden beam,
For Angel Harps had knocked a chord,
Harmonious note, hard work’s reward.
