It was a dark cold night
In December
Christmas was the only dream
For everybody
Trees had no leaves
Birds stopped singing
Butterflies no longer existed
Flowers were all dead
Women beautiful body
Were hidden by long winter coat
Nothing to look for
But Santa Claus on television
Nothing to listen
But Christmas Carols
It was a dark cold night
In December
When I dreamt about killer bees
And women in the river washing
On round and flat stones
An little boys and girls dancing calypso
In the tropical Caribbean
It was a dark cold night in Toronto
When I found this old lady searching
For a apartment in a building
Which she could not find.
Yes, it was a dark cold night in Toronto
